Bananas Nut Muffins

September 15, 2007

We did not get to the bananas quick enough, too busy with blackberries, grapes, oranges, and watermelon. So we did what we had to do. At least the bananas were not Chiquita’s.

I’ve found a good use for spotty bananas — peel ’em and mash them into a lovely paste. They come to life with cereal for breakfeast instead of the accursed flavour of milk!

OK I bought Dole organic bananas today. I need to find out what the spotty history of Dole must be – pinapple plantations in Hawaii, nicht wahr? Spotty bananas, I eat them just like that.

P.S. we are supposed to boycott Dole and Del Monte too … so says the UK pan-africanist organization … all of these are US companies choking out Caribbean banana producers.

Oh now they are just going too far.

And I am not convinced the Caribbean banana producers are more virtuous. It seems to me that these Dole and Del Monte boycotts are more … bourgeois in their goals … (not to suggest that the companies are virtuous, but Kyle’s reasons for the targeted Chiquita boycott are really specific and well targeted) …

I love banana nut muffins. It seems the store in which I buy them went up on the price once they realized this. Usually, I will microwave them for a few seconds. With colk milk, they are too die for.

rent party something smells in Denmark. Unless there is abuse, it seems that one company wants a free passage without competition.

don, forget buying them, you need to bake them from scratch. It is very very easy.
