Go Team Go!

February 3, 2008
In America today, it is Super Bowl Sunday. How many women will be beaten after money is lost? Or just beaten for nothing in particular? How many women will be raped at superbowl parties? How many children will be neglected because of a man’s inability to do whatever he should be doing? Yay, today is Super Bowl Sunday! Let’s party!

What day of the year benefits the patriarchy as much as Super Bowl Sunday? Men get a free pass expressing their homoerotic thoughts/feelings while promoting an air of hypermasculinity. Go team!

Well, my guess would be that men who behave that way would have regardless of whether there was a football game or not.

Sorry, a little hard for me to relate to this since my husband is too busy watching the Food Channel to be bothered with football ;).

😦 my husband is over at his buddy’s house watching the game, “cuz that’s what everyone else is doin'” even though we have a perfectly fine teevee and since i’m stuck at home with the flu he brought home.

    don’t mind me, i’m just sulking. 😛

i hate football anyway. guess if the hubby decided to watch it here i’d be irritated about that, too.

The patriarchy? You mean that place where you’ve lived your entire life and clouds all your judgements including the anti-patriarchal ones?
But yeah, if I were a female (especially a feminist female) the thought of a bunch of homo-erotic, hypermasculine patriarchs would scare the crap out of me.
Hypermasculine homos do not lend a very sympathetic ear to feminist complaints, and may actually kick your scawny ass and not feel ashamed afterward for hitting a little girlie.
