A No Vote Equals A Racist Vote?

April 15, 2008
Men will support men circle jerk member Tom Daschle went on the tellie recently crying about Senator Clinton and how if Obama is an elitist so is she because she has money. Sorry Daschle ol’boy, being a pot does not make everyone who disagrees with your man a kettle. It’s not about the money, it’s about the attitude. The nasty snobbish attitude that comes from people of privilege, people who went to good schools as children, then on to Ivy Leagues or very good state schools, people who were not ridiculed for having dirty clothes because of no washing machine, no money for the Laundromat and no money for detergent, no lunch money, or made to feel ashamed to apply for free lunch, little to no toiletries and groceries, choosing between eating and buying medicine or going to the doctor, no new clothes every season, no reliable transportation, no consistent bus fare, people who have to deal with inconsiderate and rude bus drivers (who will drive off when they see that a passenger is trying to get to the bus stop, all because they need to stick it to someone because they feel like someone is sticking it to them) and drunk and begging and groping and sexually harassing passengers. You can have your money, all of your money if you made it without cheating and exploiting people and harming the environment. You can have your money. Money is not the problem. No hard working American who believes in the American dream begrudges a rich person for having money. The resentment has to do with how that rich person treats people who do not have money, opportunities, privileges that they have/had. How that person ignores or forgets (if said person came from humble beginnings) how individual hard work is not the only factor needed or dealt with when trying to succeed. How that rich person magically ignores or forgets the privileges that he had and disconnects so severely from reality that he rewrites history, changing his narrative to accommodate his new pull myself up by my bootstraps story while conveniently slanting it in a way to garner sympathy.

Coming from a dirt-poor family with no financial management skills, with no ambitious aspirations other than seeing tomorrow I can tell you what it feels like to get shit from both sides, the haves and the have-nots. Regardless of how painful the crabs in the barrels (the have-nots) pinch feels, nothing, NOTHING stings like some elitist prig who flicks away the individuality of people who that elitist deems inferior. Nothing. That sting is a slap, a punch in the gut, a spit in the face, a dumping of spoiled potato salad on one’s head. That sting makes someone want to smash an elitist in his goddamn mouth. One thousand crabs in a barrel can pinch an unprivileged individual but it only takes one insult from an elitist to throw everything learned in anger management out the window (have to keep those angry proletariats in control you know, but free pass and no anger management for them when they are beating the fuck out of women, just when they beat other male coworkers and bosses).

When an elitist looks down his nose, he is invalidating that person’s existence whether that person owns the invalidation or not, because others in power with influence will accept the elitist’s opinion, his lead. Because the rules, the institutions, the prevailing ideology says his word is gold. All the other elitists in power and the elitists wannabes reinforce his attitude by adapting the same attitude. “You crack head you are a worthless piece of shit, instead of rehabilitation, [an oxymoron in the elitist realm because how can you rehabilitate something that begins as nothing] you are going to jail forever. Get away from us you are soiling our view. You low wage obtuse piece of shit, you live in a shack because it is your own fault, so what if you make middle class earnings and 58% of your gross income is still not enough to buy and pay the mortgage on a house, you should have known the difference between arugula and dandelions, you dumb hick, where is my goat cheese, you racist fuck, you colonised negro [House negro]! You stupid cunt you can’t have an abortion unless you prove first that you understand abortion has moral dimensions and then only after you promise to fuck the menz without crying rape [sign a consent form please], if you get AIDS it’s your own damn fault you should of had a condom when you were raped. And stay away from us you little nasty gay people because I’m not in the mood for your proselytizing, nobody wants to shake a gueer out of their family tree, get with the program!”

Whoever says Obama cannot be an elitist because he is black needs to really pay attention. It’s an attitude baby. It is not an impossibility. Actually implying it is an impossibility is promoting the ideal that blacks can never reach where some whites are. What is that saying? If some white folks have been so privileged that they have lived in such sanitised white communities to the point that they have never seen elitist black people then they need to at least read on the topic, maybe Toni Morrison’s, The Bluest Eye. Set aside the blue-eyed evil white people in the book who are causing the internalised hatred for a minute and look at Geraldine and what Geraldine (black) does to poor little Pecola (black). Right there you will see an example of black elitism. Now speed up the time and imagine if the Geraldine types started growing and making more money and living among elitist whites accepting their elitist ideology. Presto, you have a black elitist, one who does not limit assigning the inferior peasant label to one group but all groups different from them, you know, the haves who have major nasty attitude, the haves who knows what is best for the the have-nots. Kerry=Obama. That went over well in 2004.

Obama says folks (translation, folks that don’t want to vote for him) cling to their guns, their religion, and their bigotry because the economy is bad. In other words, you have no right to cling to anything unless it is due to not having money. People cling to things because they are human and need to belong to something, right or wrong. No man has a right to say what other’s cling to is inferior or superior or why they cling to whatever. There is what is good for society and there is what is bad for society. And many people who cannot agree on what is good and what is bad. But to lump all people who exhibit a fraction of a look or demographic that may make them seem as something is not always the reality. It is stereotyping. Stereotyping is wrong regardless of who is doing it.

Obama seems to suggest that only the people who he says has the right to feel resentment can feel resentment (Rev. Wright and his followers). Forget the reason for resentment, if you have resentment it is from what Obama says it is from. What an insult to wronged people and to people who do not support Obama but has worked tireless on race relations. What condescension. We have resentment, yes we do. We resent not being allowed to have our own individuality. We resent being labeled. We do not fit in the category of the black vote, the woman vote, the white vote, the Hispanic vote, the Archie Bunker vote, the Republican vote, the Religious right vote, the Michael Moore Left vote, the Centrists vote, the Annie Oakley vote, the gay vote, the Asian vote, the middle class vote, the symbolic vote, the lunch bucket vote, the racists vote, the church vote, the NASCAR vote, the neocon vote, the educated vote, the uneducated vote, the employed vote, the union vote, the San Francisco vote, the unemployed vote, the single issue vote, the mindless vote, etc. We resent being shoved in a fucking box. We resent our individuality being ignored. We resent you trying to find out what will appeal to us enough to hook us and then throw us away later. We resent being taken advantage of. We resent condescension. Is it that fucking hard to understand? And guess what? We all don’t have guns or lining up to go hunting. If I had my way no one in the country would own a gun, no one, including hunters. And I still don’t like Obama.

We do not have religion in our family at all, no religion. In fact, we have been called heathens more than once by bible loving friends. And I still don’t like Obama. We do not fear people who do not look like us, especially since our immediate family consists of multi-“racial” identities. I’m not talking several generations back either or extended-extended family, I’m talking about here and now, right now, two generations. Yet we are not voting for Obama and we are called racists. Racism is not the sole thing that keeps us at night, worrying about if someone will physically violate us keeps us up at night. Wondering if the government will invade our privacy keeps us up. Wondering if one of our sisters, mothers, aunts, or nieces can make it to and from work without being raped or murdered is what we worry about. Wondering if she will make equal pay for her work keeps us up. Wondering if she gets pregnant if she will live to deliver before a man murders her is what we worry about. Wondering if we will have a roof over our heads and food to eat every day is what we worry about. Wondering if the police will fuck with us for the slightest thing because our neighbors cannot understand us or fit us in a nice box that they can process is what we worry about. And because we are not voting for Obama we must suffer with being called racists? LMAO! Forget what colour we are, we are racists? Forget what experiences we have had living as or with socially constructed races, because if we are not voting for Obama we are racists? Or suffering from internalised racism, –Uncle Tom syndrome? What a fucking joke. What an elitist way to erase our existence, our reality.

It is a common meme in politically correct crowds that one oppression never trumps another. What would you call happening with this default “you are a racist if you do not vote for Obama” category? I would call it racism trumps all other -isms. Hillary Clinton has been called a racist. I want to hear something that came out of her mouth that was racist. Please point me to it. I can however point to direct quotes of classism, sexism and homophobia (and one could argue racism as well) that have come straight out of Obama’s mouth. But, I know, it was not what he meant. What is so hilarious, just down right hilarious is how Obama is supposedly so complex because he traveled a bit and he has parents of different socially constructed races. Well guess what? Look the fuck around dude!

Obama’s method is not complex, people have been labeling and stereotyping and shoving people in a box since America’s birth. Obama ain’t doing nothing that has not been done before. People have been joining organizations, including churches, fraternities, country clubs, etc to get credence since the beginning of time and, elevating themselves above others who are not part of those groups. It ain’t complicated like that.

The sales pitch is, you have no right to individuality and if you do not support Obama you are racist so vote for Obama he will change and unite. Yeah, I will get right on that.

Guess Where Obama Was When He Insulted

Our opinions & passions are what make us who we are. You are someone who feels things very keenly & is not afraid to own them & voice them. For this I admire you. A wonderfully heartfelt post. If our whole electorate put as much thought & passion into our political/social well-being as you – what a country we might be able to achieve.

Oh, Mayflower, don’t be rude. I am from before the times of the Mayflower, too, just look at my picture and you will see. And I voted for Obama.

Anyway, what I came to say was that what really perturbs me about the slinging around of the term ‘elitism’ is that it’s done to get people to vote Republican. The argment goes (and I have been listening to it for about 30 years) that the rich can afford to help fund social programs and so on, but regular people cannot, so programs like school lunch, really basic programs, are suddenly “elitist.” It’s a really wicked ideological maneuver.

But Professor, the Republicans have their load of elitists too. If anything they have more. They have just managed to hide their elitist in a good ole boy sort of way and make everyone believe elitism is limited to the Democrats, but at the end of the day their ass think they are better than many, most, too. They won’t be getting my vote either.

BTM, your kool-aid is getting pissy warm, so git.

How about when Senator Clinton made fun of Mahatma Ghandi?
    That was sorta racist.
I thought her comment comparing MLK and LBJ sorta racially dismissive.
    There’s two, want more?
Are you talking about Clinton, her husband, her surrogates, or just her supporters in general?
Do you want code words or blatant?

Don’t know a comment about Ghandi. Perhaps a reliable link.

MLK was an activist, LBJ was a president. Nothing Clinton said about the two was racist.

But yes, again, RIF, we are talking about coming out of Clinton’s mouth, the way the -isms fly out of Obama’s mouth the minute he goes off prompter.

I’m sorry Kathy that your man Obama has been proven to be a fraud. Has been proven to care for no one but himself. It will takes some time, but eventually you should be able to heal.

Kathy please. Not a few years ago, four years ago, and she apologised. Obama is hating people today, yesterday, last week, this month.

LMAO! at your grasping for straws.

    Enjoy the kool-aid.

    Hi Kitty,

    Here’s some more

I am not grasping at straws, nor do I understand why you seem so offensive and condescending. I have been nothing but polite here and do not partake in the comments at HuffPo either.

Kathy please. I am so sick of the Obama rhetoric supporters. Prove that the man has not expressed Classism, Sexism, Racism, and Homophobia or get to stepping. There is nothing to discuss here. The man is a fraud. Sip your kool-aid at your own joint. I will not entertain your “I know he is but what is she.” When I see that he is a fraud. Get it? Got it? Good.

Prove the man is not a sexist. Prove the man is not a classist. Prove the man is not a homophobe. That is your job as a Obama supporter, not mine.

There are enough blogs that bend over backwards to kiss Obama’s ass. So your only point here is to try and silence me. Because no one can expose the Precious one for the Fraud that he is. But guess what. I will shout it from the rooftops, OBAMA IS A FRAUD!
What part of that don’t you understand.

A four year joke/insult compared to a series of recent serious/insults. Apples and oranges.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it is not my job or even Obama’s job to prove what he is not. That is not even logical.

Silence you? You have got to be kidding. Who cares? Blah blah blah.
