Mary Sunshine quote, free of charge (hope you don’t mind Mary Sunshine and Undercover Punk:
    Mary Sunshine

Being “good” is all about giving our energy to males, and morally bullying other females into giving our energy to males.

“Good” is a Xtian word. “Wise” is a separatist word.

“Good” is defined by male supremacy, of course. And it’s not subject to re-definition or re-purposing, either. It’s like “sexy” that way.

Yes, it’s almost as if Mary Sunshine’s comment anticipated this post! Hmmm…

And to answer the question, NO, being a “Good Woman TM” (ha!) requires complicity with patriarchal constructs that necessarily prohibit questioning of feminine roles–it’s just the Natural Way, you know! Don’t question GOD! You will feel the WRATH.

Being a feminist, on the other hand, REQUIRES us to question these genderized constructs, to de-construct them, and to resist their harmful consequences.

The two cannot co-exist. I am, proudly, a Bad Woman TM. Bwahahahaha!

But what does ‘a good womon’, mean amongst Rad-fems? Or cannot a rad-fem be a good womon, if not what makes her bad in the eyes of other rad-fems…I could give a fig about what men think (as they don’t) constitutes a ‘good womon!

ybawife, first, let me say that I know you’re a participant at Rain’s forum where Kitty and I are currently being dragged through the dirt. So, I’m only letting this one comment through so that I can dispel a misconceived notion.

When Kitty and I say that striving to be “good women” has nothing to do with setting women free, we mean just that. We’re not calling anyone bad. We’re not saying one should strive to be bad. Goodness and badness are entirely irrelevant, in fact. There are things that move us toward women’s liberation, or *a* woman’s liberation, or *some* women’s liberation, and there are things that don’t. That’s the only dichotomy that interests us.
