Gender is Misogyny

December 21, 2009

A transgendered male gives a speech at the UN decrying discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity without a single mention of misogyny.  He appropriates the experiences of women, alluding to rape, the burning of women at stakes, even going so far as to co-opt the deaths of Joan of Arc and Teena Brandon, yet he doesn’t spare a moment to say anything at all against the misogyny underlying these atrocities.  Why, exactly, are those of us concerned with the submission of female people to male domination to consider the proponents of such an agenda – the redirection of energies away from misogyny – allies?

Misogyny is the basis for all gender-based discrimination, since gender is a tool, the only purpose of which is to mark female human beings visually and psychologically as members of the sex class.  This is why males who flout the tenets of gender by adopting facets of femininity are scorned – because males use femininity as a way of more easily targeting female people for sexual, reproductive, and economic oppression.  Female people would be oppressed regardless, but gender serves to ease the discernment of femaleness and to make compulsory the socialization of female people into subservience, one aspect of which is heterosexuality.  Gender is not an identity; it is the codification of misogynist sex roles.  To identify with gender is to identify with male supremacy.

And of course trannies think (because they are men) that they are being attacked by men for not upholding maleness and/or not being a real woman. When what they are really being attacked for, his making a male’s job more complicated. A man wants to be able to know without disconcertment whom is his prey.

What I don’t get is how this slips most feminists by — trans activists appropriate female oppression, and then use it to argue that females oppress them.

How do the trans allies cope with the cognitive-dissonance they must suffer from when faced with this kind of nonsense?

Oh like they are trying to play the victim card all while they are attacking women for not recgonizing their delusions. It seems like these trannies are trying to have it both ways and it all seems to stem from the fact that they are still using their male power and male privilage to force their way and their views onto women. What I think they are really attacking is the fact that males are not making other males life easier for them fake their way into womanhood.

You do have to wonder how these transgender talian types and these trans allies cope with their delusional-cognative issues when society dose not like their nonsense.
