I Am….

August 12, 2011

…disenfranchised with the disenfranchised.

Which of course, does not mean I am enfranchised with the enfranchised.

Of course you would like this post la redactora because you are this post, –you and I. Out of everyone on the internet, I know for sure you are as close to this post as I am. It is like allowing the waves to carry us, but slapping at those waves when they try to take us in one direction and slapping at them when they try to carry us in another direction and slapping them still again when they are carrying us at all, even though, all the while we don’t have a directional plan, not even enough of a plan to follow the stars.

I can be so awkwardly pretentious when I want to be. Or perhaps my soul is feeling old.

I once signed a contract with Dr. Faustus that said that fifty percent of the time I *had* to be awkwardly pretentious. I think it was so the rest of the time I could just be smug 😉
    .

Anyway, I initially came here to share (and oh so off-topically) this, because it seemed up your alley.

Sometimes McSweeneys takes the agues* away.

*another politely literary disease. I think I will diagnose my fainting lady with it.

But yes, back to your original post–some people are just so damned opportunistic.

I can’t be bothered with the franchise, one way or another.

    So, does consumption try harder?
