Hurricane Theatre

August 28, 2011

The Democratic version of Republican terrorism threats. Scare the little piggies into shelter so no one will notice what the big bad wolf is doing.

By the way, you need to BUY, BUY little piggies, BUY!

Coca-Cola ain’t going to buy itself!

ETA: We have a winner!

First: Make a hurricane look worse than it is.

Second: Pat self on back for responding better than response for hurricane that was worse, even though that worse hurricane was the a posteriori for the lesser hurricane that was supposedly responded better to.

This administration is a saint, I tell you, a SAINT!

What are they trying to hide this time? Have I missed something besides Libya? Irene and Libya are the only things I am hearing here, and today only Irene.

Yep. Up the fear, “fix it”, and Mission Accomplished, etc. Granted, relatives still dealing with flooding, power loss. But you are definitely right. Obama comes out looking better than Bush, and the GDP has probably gone up.

You bring up a good aside when speaking of people actually dealing with the aftermath, and that is, of course there is an aftermath, it was a storm, –a tropical storm. But, it seems that the accepted line of argument in our current political society is, if you can prove that there was at least one, –one death, one area of flooding or one anything then the assertion that the storm was used as fear-mongering is wrong. Politicians use fear mongering in order to justify what politicians are doing or/and are not doing. When Bush and his cronies used terrorist fear mongering it does not negate that there may have been actual terrorism taking place or the potential for terrorism, it means that the exploitation of that fear was used for political agendas.

The Democrats are so fucking hypocritical and act like stupid little mimic dogs. They know they cannot use the terrorist angle because that is what the Republicans have used (use), so instead, they latch on to something else, –the weather. Moreover, although they are quick to point the finger and identify the Republicans when they are fear mongering, they cannot for the life of them recognize the behavior in themselves. Instead, they engage in the deepest form of rationalizing, “There is too a very bad storm …… [and then a unhealthy dose of pathos is thrown in for good measure] and how dare you deny the man who lost his cat in the storm his person hood by accusing us of using the weather as a tool.”

FUCK BOTH SIDES! is my point, I suppose.
