It you do not have a job and expect not to have one soon, seeing that Augusts’ job growth has been reported as 0, perhaps you should consider a career change. It may not be year round employment but you can count on it being seasonal, –most of September. There is lots of work to be done/had.

American flags must be posted everywhere.
Professional mourners (particularly ones who can cry on cue) are needed at various events.
Lessons in cognitive dissonance must be taught.
Facilitators are needed to promote nationalism.
Miscreants are needed to instill misguided vengeance in group settings.
Has been actors/actresses are necessary to write books denoting exactly what they were eating at the historical moment.
    Etc.
    Etc.

Females are raped and murdered every day, without note.

Your list was funnier than the cartoon, more complete.

“American flags must be posted everywhere.” American flags are like the Starbucks of the sticks. There’s one on every corner. etc. The only way there could be *more* American flags out here is if they started tattooing them on livestock.

Anyway, there had been so much talk about the “anniversary” that until yesterday when I looked at my calendar I thought we had passed it. Anyway anyway, the whole thing sounds like fascism to me.

Fascism, indeed. And for someone who watches Hitler-esque docs on the Military and History channels, –all the time, okay, not all the time, but when I feel like watching tellie and nothing else is on, I am thinking passed our [U.S.A] new Hitler-era. As in, then what? In every documentary, the focus is always how Nazism (fascism) “sort of just happened,” and now, years later, everyone questions how it was allowed. Well, look around you twits!

YES. I thought that I was the only one who saw this. So glad I’m not.

Speaking of fascism, Southwest is going around endorsing “redshirt Fridays.” The newest purity test. I could see that sort of thing going south easily, if someone passed by a crowd of these “redshirts” and didn’t happen to be endorsing.

I read that over at your place this morning. I then googled it and was directed to snopes, and then got distracted. I did read some shit about “silent majority.” As if! Patriotism has not been silent around here [U.S] for some time. It started with those “Support the Troops” ribbons on cars back in 2001-03. I see as an inverted gold star (as in Nazism). Americans know enough to know that they cannot come out and label people, so what they do, is label others by labeling themselves first, and anyone not owning the label becomes the label (target). “How dare you not have a ‘Support the Troops’ ribbon on your car!”

Yes, that is exactly what I mean by purity tests. Like if you don’t say “amen” when someone prays, or don’t put your hand over your heart and sing along during the national anthem. We must all march in lockstep.
